As I approached my 49th birthday, the need to stay healthy and in good shape hit, so along with my husband and a few friends I decided to start running.  I never had any intentions of becoming a ‘runner’…I just wanted to be healthy.  Well the running bug bit…and a few days after my 50th birthday, along with my running partner, I ran the Honolulu marathon.  Since then I have run many 10 km’s, half marathons and even a couple more full marathons, including the Boston Marathon, which I ran in April of 2008.  I have led the ‘Learn to Run’ group at Peninsula Runners in Walnut Grove for the past 8 years.

Along with the running, I decided to go to the gym and do some weight training.  Shortly after starting that, I realized this was something I really wanted to get into.  I then proceeded to go back to school and become a BC Recreation and Parks Association qualified Personal Trainer.  I then started my own business ‘Best Foot Forward Fitness and Reflexology’ (my husband Paul does the reflexology part) and have been doing personal training for the past 7 years.

Three years ago, I again returned to class to become a qualified Boot Camp Instructor and in September 2008 started BreakOut Boot Camp.  I work with men and women of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels to help them “Break Out of their old routines, Enjoy Life and Get Fit’.  With the irrefutable statistics on the importance of regular exercise to the health and well-being of us all, it is a privilege for me to work alongside the many people that come to my classes.
